Rehovot, Israel (May 19, 2008) - Objet Geometries Ltd. (www.2objet.com), the innovation leader in 3-D printing, is showcasing its revolutionary Connex500™ system at the RAPID 2008 Conference & Exhibition, North America's largest annual rapid manufacturing event, in Lake Buena Vista, Florida on May 20-22. The Connex500™, on display at Booth #615, is the first-ever system to allow printing of several materials with different mechanical and physical properties simultaneously.
Objet's Connex500™ represents a breakthrough in three-dimensional printing by, for the first time, offering product developers the ability to print parts and assemblies made of several materials with different mechanical and physical properties in a single build process. The system's patented PolyJet Matrix™ Technology jets materials in ultra-thin layers, immediately curing each layer with UV light, a process which yields models that closely emulate the look, feel and function of an exceptionally wide variety of end products. In addition, the system allows users to create composite materials that have pre-set combinations of mechanical properties, also a first for the industry.
The Connex500™ was unveiled in November 2007 and broadens Objet's offering, adding another level of versatility and capabilities to those provided by Objet's market-leading Eden™ family of 3-D printing systems. Professionals from vast array of industries in North America are highly familiar with Objet's innovative approach to 3-D modeling through the Eden family of products, which will also be on display at the RAPID event and produce highly accurate, finely detailed models with ultra-thin walls down to 16 microns. Differentiated by their different build sizes and varied support for specific FullCure® photopolymer materials from Objet, the variety of Eden 3-D printing systems available enables design departments to choose the solution that best fits their needs.
''We are thrilled to be part of this year's RAPID event, demonstrating the ground-breaking capabilities of our Connex500™ system,'' said Adina Shorr, CEO of Objet Geometries. ''Objet's unique innovation highlights our leadership position in the field of rapid prototyping, which has become a vital tool in product development and manufacturing processes among a diverse range of industries throughout the world.''
The RAPID event, sponsored by the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, brings together buyers, sellers and end-users of design, prototyping, tooling and direct manufacturing technologies where attendees can evaluate the latest materials, machinery and processes.
