North Kingstown, RI - September 8, 2008 - Brown & Sharpe TESA, a Hexagon Metrology company, announced today the company will brand and market the TESA MultiGage to its worldwide distribution channels for industrial metrology products.
The new MultiGage is a portable, precision CMM with a 1.2 m measuring volume ideal for quality control applications on the machine shop floor. The six-axis MultiGage is used to measure molds, parts, tooling, castings, and more. Its quick-mount system enables a quick setup for on-demand inspection of parts or assemblies on a machine tool or any location on the shop floor. The product can be seen at the Hexagon Metrology booth D4303 at IMTS 2008, McCormick Place, Chicago, IL, from September 8 - 13, 2008. The new TESA MultiGage's plug-and-play probes and ultra-intuitive software interface translate to a fast learning curve for operators. Detailed measurement reports are generated automatically. The MultiGage starts with the functionality of a 3D height gage and packs on a multitude of new features and high accuracies. The CMM can do the job of many handheld tools, and streamlines the workspace of the small job shop.
''We are excited to introduce the revolutionary TESA MultiGage to machine shops around the world," states Marcel Bila, Sales and Marketing Manager, TESA Worldwide. "It is the perfect upgrade path for owners looking to replace old techniques with a simple-to-use solution for inspection and measurement of part features and geometric shapes of all complexities."
Features Abound on TESA MultiGage
With the TESA MultiGage, machine shops now have access to the same capabilities found in a metrology lab. MultiGage can be mounted directly onto a machine tool, and the user can inspect parts without removal. After each part inspection, the software automatically generates detailed measurement reports. Operators are not required to have metrology knowledge.
TESA MultiGage's counterweight design eliminates operator fatigue and assures the same high accuracy over the full range of measurements. A new ergonomic wrist with intuitive and easy-to-reach buttons is comfortable to use, and increases operator productivity.
Using TESA Swiss-made multi-wire connectors, the system's automatic probe recognition feature is combined with a highly proven, robust kinematic joint connection. MultiGage electronic probes are automatically recognized and identified by the software requiring no recalibration of probes when changing from probe to probe.
