January 7, 2008-- Sandio Technology Corporation, a California-based 3D input company, is demonstrating its 3D mouse on various 3D applications at the 2008 International CES show that opens today in Las Vegas. The demo will include Sandio's newest mouse, the Sandio 3D Game O2.
The Sandio 3D mouse enhances PC users' total experiences on 3D applications. Users of Google Earth and Virtual Earth, for example, can now use the Sandio 3D mouse to "fly through" the 3D Internet without dealing with keyboard or on-screen navigation tabs.
In addition, Second Life residents can use the Sandio 3D mouse to move forward, backward and sideways, fly, crouch, and turn right and left using only the Sandio mouse, leaving their other hand for controlling their avatar's gestures or any other options.
Users of CAD software like Google SketchUp, AutoDesk's 3D Studio Max can move along and rotate about the x, y, z axis in both Screen and Camera modes without switching between 3D objects and operation menus.
Sandio 3D Game O2 is the only mouse of its kind designed for RTS and RPG games. It improves 3D game navigation, makes it possible to effortlessly and intuitively manipulate camera views, and even provides a competitive edge with 16 programmable keys.
In anticipation to the emerging robotic industry and personal robotics in the near future, Sandio 3D input device supports Microsoft Robotics Studio. Sandio will demo its 13DOF motion controller during CES 2008.
The Sandio 3D Game O2 was developed based on feedback from users and industry analysts. The new unit offers improved hardware quality and software usability as well as auto-loading of key 3D application drivers and plug-ins including Google Earth, Microsoft Virtual Earth, Second Life, Google SketchUp, AutoDesk 3D Studio Max, and AutoCAD. It also comes with 40 pre-programmed game configurations.
The Sandio 3D Game O2 mouse is now available in the U.S., Canada, Japan and China at an MSRP of $79.99 (U.S.). Online demos are available at www.sandiotech.com.
In the U.S., the Sandio 3D Game O2 mouse is available from e-tailers, retailers, v-tailers in Second Life, and www.sandiotech.com. In Japan, Sandio 3D mouse is sold through Gdex at www.gdex.co.jp. In China, Sandio is partnering with BuySir at www.buysir.com and its resellers to promote the new 3D mouse. Sandio is recruiting resellers for the other regions and countries.
