SOUTHPOINTE, Pa., Jan. 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- ANSYS, Inc. (Nasdaq: ANSS), a global innovator of simulation software and technologies designed to optimize product development processes, today announced that it has been cited as Europe's leader in engineering simulation software sales in a report by 01consulting, which specializes in evaluating the industry on the continent. Of nearly a dozen computer-aided engineering (CAE) software vendors tracked in Europe, ANSYS came out as the overall leader in software sales and as a leading supplier in every European geography and industry sector.
The 01consulting report estimated overall European CAE software sales to be euro 1.2 billion in 2006, growing at a healthy 11 percent per year. The document ranked the top 11 simulation software vendors in Europe, through multiple criteria, and provided analysis and ranking per industry and per country.
"01consulting's report shows how large and pivotal the engineering simulation industry in Europe is and that it will continue its solid development in the future. The ranking validates that our long-term strategy is on-target. In fact, ANSYS reported organic revenue growth of 21.5 percent in the most recently reported financial results for the third quarter of 2007, approximately double the CAE industry growth rate in Europe. In addition, we remain committed to investing in the future of ANSYS, further strengthening our ability to deliver the industry's most comprehensive and advanced simulation solutions," said Chris Reid, vice president of marketing at ANSYS, Inc.
The engineering simulation industry in Europe has been recording a steady growth rate, year on year, for almost 30 years. European engineers use CAE software extensively and successfully to validate their own manufactured products through simulation, testing and experimentation.
