SHANGHAI - On November 6 to 8 2007, the top management of CNH International Operations, a world leader in the agricultural equipment business part of the Fiat Group, holds an export seminar with all its Sales & Marketing team from Asia, Africa, Middle East, CIS, Australia and New Zealand in its Shanghai New Holland plant. New Holland is a brand of CNH. The export seminar, aimed to train the Sales force on the features and benefits as well as on new markets opportunities of the new TL5000 tractor range, is a further proof of the ongoing CNH commitment into Chinese and new markets.
The new family of tractors is manufactured by Shanghai New Holland, the joint venture New Holland established in 2002 with the SAIC Group (Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation - the largest Chinese industrial group) and represents the largest agricultural machinery and equipment company in China up to now, with a total investment of US $ 75 million.
The new range of tractors, launched in May 2007 on the domestic market, is completely built in China based on the TL tractors produced in Europe, and it has been designed to meet the ever increasing needs of today's farmer through a productive, reliable and versatile tractor.
The TL5000 is the answer to the growing demand of the Chinese market for more advanced, efficient and highly reliable machinery, at an affordable purchasing price for farmers.
After a very successful domestic introduction and positive feedback from customers and dealers all over China, the new TL5000 range is targeting new markets starting November 2007 when it will begin to be exported into international markets in Asia, Africa, Middle East and CIS. Starting with TL5000, SNH will become the manufacturing base for CNH global markets and will supply agricultural machinery and equipments to its global customers.
The TL5000 range is made up of three models: 80, 90 and 100 hp, and models are available with two- and four-wheel drive, cab and platform configurations.
With this new product family Shanghai New Holland targets 15% market share in the 80 - 100 hp tractor segment in China, aiming to enlarge the local offerings to fully cover the 50 - 100 hp range. Shanghai New Holland is planning a future production of 5,000 units per year of the new range, of which 50% will be for export.
Shanghai New Holland plant, located in the historical STEC site neighbouring Shanghai's city centre, since July 2002 was certified according to the ISO 9001: 2000 quality standards and in 2003 it has been awarded by Shanghai Municipality as Model Foreign JV with Advanced Technology.
In 2007, Shanghai New Holland will produce more than 11,000 units in China distributed through a network of 130 dealers.
