In the context of sustainable mobility & energy management optimization, new mechatronic systems in powertrain, transmission and chassis are being developed - often in close collaboration with the supplier industry, with a high impact on system functional performance. These industrial changes require technological innovation as well as considerations for more efficient development processes. The industry focuses on frontloading the development process based on a model based systems engineering paradigm, including methodology to use virtual multi-physics models of subsystems and systems in combination with controls modeling for frontloading performance assessment, and develops refined schemes for control integration, calibration and validation.
