Invotec Solutions Limited launch the new Dr Eddy flow meter designed to display not only water flow but 'Turbulent flow'. Using FCI ( Fluid Characteristic Indication) Technology, Dr. Eddy displays the condition of the cooling water as it relates to flow efficiency: laminar flow, transient flow, or turbulent flow.
Dr Eddy will allow users to view and monitor the main stages of water flow to achieve turbulent flow - the most efficient level of flow within pipes and cooling channels - ensuring cooling water is not wasted due to excessive flow. The correct level of flow used is particularly important during the cooling phase of a moulding cycle.
Dr Eddy can help you to reduce waste water and electrical usage during every cycle of your production run.
Paul Horner of Invotec Solutions says ''Our own research shows that many customers are unaware that a 10mm cooling channel or pipe will typically need only 1.5 to 3 litres per minute to achieve Turbulent flow; any more is a waste of energy by pumping more water through the cooling system than is necessary. Correcting this one aspect can lead to big energy savings''.
