New Expanded Range of WIDIA Top Cut™/Top Cut Plus™ Indexable Drills

(LATROBE, PA) - To both improve and expand WIDIA-brand's complete holemaking solutions portfolio, the WIDIA Top Cut™ and Top Cut Plus™ indexable drill lines are now available in an expanded range of tool bodies. Small diameters from 0.438'' to 1.000'' are covered by Top Cut drills, and larger diameters from 0.750'' to 2.250'' are ideal for using Top Cut Plus drills. With cartridges for Top Cut Plus drills, the portfolio is extended up to 4.331 in.
''Essentially, we now offer Top Cut indexable drills and Top Cut Plus indexable drills in inch 2xD, 3xD and 4xD,'' says Doris Kraus, product manager, holemaking. ''Furthermore, we have extended the program with an expanded offering of inch-based shanks in order to better serve our North American customers and their requirements.''
Top Cut and Top Cut Plus drills have a great history in the indexable drilling market, and the new offerings extend that history with notable technological advances. With some of the highest feed rates in the range of smaller-diameter indexable drills, Top Cut drills now include an enhanced pocket seat design and cooling supply. An optimized flute and cartridge design have also been added for improved performance results for the Top Cut Plus line.
