A major milestone towards market leadership in model-based systems engineering

LMS International announced today that it has acquired 100% of Emmeskay. Emmeskay is recognized as a world-class, global provider of advanced simulation technology solutions for model-based systems engineering (MBSE). Emmeskay has offices in Plymouth, Michigan (USA), Chennai, Tamil Nadu (India) and Nagoya, Aichi (Japan). This acquisition is an important milestone for LMS. It complements LMS' world-class solutions for intelligent multi-physics systems simulation with new applications and services for model-driven product development, strengthening LMS' position as a world-leading engineering innovator with a unique portfolio of test and simulation software and related engineering services.

''We are very excited about this strategic acquisition. Emmeskay's state-of-the-art plant modeling and controls development technology and its extensive experience supporting model-based systems engineering development truly complements our unique portfolio. Today, we can offer a complete set of applications to model, simulate and test real-life behavior of mechanical and mechatronics systems,'' commented Dr. Urbain Vandeurzen, Chairman and CEO of LMS.

Craig A. Brown, GM PLM Strategy Co-Chairman added, ''Model-based systems engineering or MBSE is core to our strategy to further step up our Road-to-Lab-to-Math processes within GM. We are working with LMS for many years to advance our capabilities in powertrain virtual engineering and expanding into vehicle energy management. We have worked with Emmeskay on advanced controls engineering, including fuel cell systems development. We see the complementary fit between both companies. The acquisition of Emmeskay by LMS puts LMS in a strong position to further expand its MBSE products and services portfolio.''

Dr. Sebastien Kanne, Manager Diesel Systems Entwicklung, Bosch concluded, ''LMS Imagine.Lab SysDM is a cornerstone to further increase the effectiveness of simulation and enhance collaboration in our diesel systems development. It also facilitates simulation model re-use for system engineering across multiple development projects.''
