Merquinsa announces today the launch of a new Bio TPU range for Wire & Cable at FAKUMA 2009 (International trade fair for plastics processing, from 13 to 17 October in Friedichshafen, Germany).
The new renewable-based Pearlthane® ECO thermoplastic polyurethane grades will offer Wire & Cable producers a new value proposition for performance excellence and environmental responsibility.
These halogen-free, abrasion resistant, polyether-based Bio TPU grades with a renewable content up to 60 % according to ASTM D6866 offer an alternative to petroleum-based TPUs or TPEs for premium cables in mining, automotive, consumer electronics or solar industries.
Pearlthane® ECO 20Nxx series exhibits excellent toughness, flexibility through a wide range of temperatures, hydrolysis resistance along with oustanding processability and recyclability.
This new product range completes Merquinsa´s portfolio of Bio TPUs for Green elastomeric applications, a unique invention recently awarded by Frost & Sullivan with the ''Green Excellence Award of the Year''.
