Leuven, Belgium - LMS, the engineering innovation company, announces that the engineering company Magna Steyr recently invested in an 80-channel LMS SCADAS Mobile data acquisition system for its in-house NVH testing centre in Graz, Austria. This high-channel count system is an extension of its already existing LMS testing systems.
Magna Steyr is a world-leading engineering and manufacturing partner working with automakers around the globe. Currently, the company is working on full vehicle development projects for BMW and PSA PEUGEOT CITROËN amongst others. Magna Steyr recently announced upcoming partnerships with both Porsche and Aston Martin. Known for its engineering expertise and industry-leading efficiency, the Magna Steyr NVH team helps its global customer-base solve challenging NVH issues in the low frequency and high-frequency bandwidths.
''In our lab, we have various LMS test and analysis systems for our daily work. The new 80-channel LMS SCADAS Mobile system is earmarked for our benchmark investigations for our OEM projects. It is quite unique because we actually use it on the highway to measure the engine mount installation structure and for the deflection mode shape analysis. We needed a portable solution with the channel capacity to measure both the vehicle RPM and the structure-borne noise from the engine mounts and other parts of interest,'' stated Mr. Kenan Karaca, a Magna Steyr NVH spokesperson. ''It is easy and fast to set up and we are certain that we obtain the data we need in one shot.''
Like other engineering and testing centers around the world, the Magna Steyr teams of acoustic specialists are looking for ways to save time without compromising data acquisition quality. The LMS SCADAS solution, enhanced by its tight integration with the LMS Test.Lab platform, helps engineers set up complex test campaigns quickly.
''LMS Test.Lab is the right software tool for the job. It is easy to use and set up all 80 of the channels. It saves time because you are certain to get the data you need the first time. You do not have to repeat the measurements,'' added Mr. Kenan Karaca. ''Besides the obvious channel capacity, I think the biggest advantage for Magna Steyr is that even with 80 channels, the LMS SCADAS is quite a portable system and one that will be intensively used to successfully complete our driving comfort projects for our world-leading automotive customers.''About LMS International:
