WALTER is expanding its range of HSC milling cutters for machining graphite
With the graphite milling cutter family HSC 30, WALTER covers an important application in tool and mould making: the manufacture of electrodes for erosion machining. One of the trends in this sector is towards ever more complicated contours, some with very deep cavities and a large number of projecting edges.
To address this development, WALTER has expanded the 12 mm diameter HSC milling cutter with a version having a 90 mm long neck (90 mm = projection length). Both a shank cutter with radius (R = 1.0 mm) and a radius copying milling cutter (R = 6.0 mm) are available in this length with immediate effect. The lengths for deep contours: with 90mm neck length, WALTER is supplying HSC milling cutters with a particularly long projection for machining graphite electrodes.
