11 July 2008 - SolidCAM, the leading and fastest growing supplier of integrated CAM software solutions for the manufacturing industry, was once again named, the most rapidly-growing CAM vendor worldwide by prominent consulting and market research firm, CIMdata.
In its recently published, ''NC Software and Related Services Market Assessment report Version 17'', CIMdata ranked SolidCAM as ''the worldwide fastest-growing NC software vendor in 2007 with a revenue growth rate of 37.1%.'' CIMdata also forecasted that ''SolidCAM again will be a fast-growing vendor in 2008 with a growth rate of 30%.''
Mr. Alan Christman, CIMdata Chairman and primary author of the report, stated that ''SolidCAM is implementing a distinctive business and product strategy, their revenue growth rate is exceptional, and they have a broad-based, easy-to-use, competitive CAM product offering'' and concluded that ''SolidCAM is rapidly becoming a significant player in the worldwide CAM marketplace.''
Dr. Emil Somekh, founder and Managing Director of SolidCAM, believes that SolidCAM is reaping the fruits of a carefully planned and implemented strategy. ''The results reflect the size of the SolidWorks market in need of a powerful and fully integrated CAM solution, and the acceptance of SolidCAM as the de-facto integrated CAM engine for SolidWorks by an ever growing portion of the marketplace.''
''We have been catering to an exceptionally diversified customer base, providing a strong solution for the full range of their machining needs. Our geographical presence in over 40 countries enables us to be intimately familiar with specific market needs and to respond to those needs in a very short cycle time'' added Dr. Somekh.
Being totally integrated in SolidWorks, the leading mainstream 3D CAD system , SolidCAM provides all the necessary operations for the manufacturing of a part inside SolidWorks. With its seamless single-window integration in SolidWorks, SolidCAM enables the user to define, calculate and verify all the machining operations in the SolidWorks environment. All geometries used for machining are fully associative with the SolidWorks design model. When the geometry of a part is modified, SolidCAM enables the user to automatically synchronise all machining operations with the updated geometry.
SolidCAM creates efficient toolpaths and supports advanced CAM intelligence including knowledge-based manufacturing processes and automatic feature recognition and machining (AFRM).
Mr. Christman added that he is ''favorably impressed by the core SolidCAM strategy to be closely aligned with and embedded within SolidWorks, the SolidCAM decision to only develop CAM products, the extensions to their product line in high-speed and 5-axis machining, and the breadth and depth of their CAM product offerings that meets the needs of a broad range of industries and users.''
