Ultra-high-performance MPS carbide drills have been recently developed by Mitsubishi Carbide for the high-speed drilling of standard and deep holes ranging in depth from 3 to 30 times the diameter of the hole. The MPS drills employ a specially designed wave-type cutting edge for improved penetration and reduced tool load, which is especially important for extra-deep-hole applications. Additionally, a new double-margin flute maximizes accuracy and ensures smooth chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. This range achieves state-of-the-art performance and hole precision even during use under the toughest of cutting conditions.
Owing to the MPS series' unique design and cutting-edge geometry and their critical through-coolant holes, the drills are capable of impressive cutting performance even at the highest speeds and feeds. Their highly wear-and oxidation-resistant Miracle coating secures long tool life at extreme feed rates and despite the high-temperature conditions generated during deep drilling operations.
MPS drills are available in diameters of 3.0 to 20 mm, with the length-to-diameter ratio ranging up to 30 for diameters of 10 mm and below.
